- 12 Hours rotation - 6 am |6 pm (4 on, 4 off days)
About The Role
- As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of our critical infrastructure.
- You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation, ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems. Oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.
- This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, focusing on delivering technical maintenance services in high-stakes client environments.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance tasks.
- Support HV Works on Site, post Site training and qualifications.
- Ensure that the site's environmental conditions are conducive to a safe and efficient work workplace.
- Respond promptly to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
- Monitor the Building Management System for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC-related client issues.
- Perform building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
- Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions.
- Complete assigned work following established processes and procedures, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine quality checks to maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
- Complete all required training to ensure the successful completion of job-related responsibilities.
- Utilize existing procedures to solve straightforward problems, with limited discretion.
- Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
- Deliver results by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need
- Training in a technical discipline, having completed an apprenticeship or equivalent, with 2-4 years of job-related experience.
- AU Citizen is preferred due to NVI vetting.
- Completed Cert III - Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration/ Electrotechnology Electrical with valid ARC /Victoria Grade A License.
- Working in similar environment in Data Center or Critical Infrastructure Facilities Maintenance.
- Experience in support for HV works - added advantage.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present information to internal departments, clients, management, and colleagues.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
