Position Overview

This opportunity exists for a person with a passion and commitment to regulatory services and compliance. The Council seeks individuals who enjoy working around animals and have a genuine interest in making a difference in our community. The successful applicant will complete the two‑person Regulatory Officer team to enable responsive services and maintain a good work‑life balance in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct field activities at Coonamble Saleyards, Common and Aerodrome including animal rehousing and control.
- Perform water sampling, develop community safety plans, issue orders and notices.
- Carry out field inspections, manage stray animals, overgrown premises and derelict vehicles.
- Balance on‑field duties with administrative functions; perform overtime and weekend work when on the on‑call roster.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Demonstrated experience in animal control and enforcement of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Ability to provide information and guidance on regulatory matters to the public.
- Preferred qualifications in regulatory services,



or extensive practical experience.
- Current Driver’s Licence and WHS White Card.
- Capability to pass background and criminal checks.
- Willingness to work on‑call hours as required.

- Salary range $73,546 – $85,138 plus superannuation.
