As a Category Manager at PwC, you'll bring your sourcing expertise and commercial acumen to support the execution of consulting, professional services and technology procurement activities, based in Sydney / Gadigal. You'll work closely with stakeholders across finance, legal, risk and technology teams, helping drive compliant, commercially sound outcomes across a diverse supplier portfolio.

What you’ll do:

Sourcing and Procurement Execution

- Execute end-to-end sourcing activities including RFI, RFQ and RFP preparation, supplier engagement, evaluation support, negotiation preparation, award documentation and implementation tracking.

- Prepare commercial comparisons, pricing summaries, supplier analysis, evaluation materials and recommendation packs.

- Support procurement across consulting, advisory, legal, HR services, specialist contractors, software, SaaS and IT services.

- Maintain sourcing records, approval documentation and reporting in line with procurement governance requirements.

Consulting and Professional Services Procurement

- Support procurement across consulting and professional services engagements, reviewing statements of work, rate cards, role mix, deliverables, milestones, assumptions and commercial terms.

- Identify opportunities for rate benchmarking, supplier consolidation, demand management and improved statement of work governance.

- Contribute to improved buying discipline across consulting and specialist services spend.

Stakeholder and Supplier Coordination

- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify scope, support supplier engagement and progress procurement activities.

- Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Finance, Technology and business teams to support compliant sourcing and contracting.

- Provide clear procurement guidance within agreed policies, processes and delegated authority levels, escalating complex commercial, legal, risk or stakeholder issues through procurement leadership.

Commercial Analysis and Value Tracking

- Support spend analysis, savings tracking, cost avoidance reporting and benefits documentation.

- Prepare analysis on supplier pricing, commercial options, contract renewals,



rate structures and supplier performance.

- Support commercial modelling and scenario analysis for sourcing and renewal decisions, contributing to procurement process compliance and risk management.

Supplier and Contract Support

- Support supplier performance reporting, contract renewal tracking, issue logs and governance meeting preparation.

- Monitor contract risks including renewal dates, auto-renewals, indexation, scope changes and non-compliant spend.

- Maintain accurate procurement records, track actions from supplier reviews, and support audit readiness.

What we’re looking for:

Core skills

- 3 to 5 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, category support or commercial sourcing experience in the Australian market.

- Practical experience supporting or running sourcing activities for consulting, advisory, legal, HR services, specialist contractors or other professional services categories.

- Sound understanding of professional services engagement models, including rate cards, role mix, statements of work, deliverables, milestones, scope management and commercial terms.

- Experience reviewing statements of work, supplier proposals, rate cards, commercial schedules and contract documentation.

- Familiarity with contract and commercial risk concepts, including liability, indemnities, service levels, data protection, information security and termination provisions.

- Ability to undertake spend analysis, supplier comparison, commercial modelling, opportunity identification and sourcing documentation.

- Ability to evaluate supplier proposals using commercial, operational, risk and value criteria.

- Sound negotiation skills with ability to support commercial discussions and prepare negotiation analysis.

- Confident stakeholder engagement across business, procurement, finance, legal, risk and technology teams.

- Financial acumen, including cost comparison, total cost analysis, business case support and benefits tracking.

- Structured problem solving, analytical thinking and ability to balance savings, risk, service quality, stakeholder needs and procurement governance.

- Clear written and verbal communication, including sourcing summaries, recommendation packs and stakeholder updates.

- Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Desirable skills

- Exposure to technology procurement, including software, SaaS, IT services, systems integration or managed services.





- Working knowledge of technology procurement concepts, including SaaS subscriptions, software renewals, IT services and managed services.

- Experience with spend analytics tools, dashboards and reporting, including Power BI or equivalent.

- Working knowledge of contract lifecycle management systems.

- Familiarity with e-procurement and source-to-pay systems, for example Unit4 Scanmarket, Zycus, Ariba or Coupa.

- Experience maintaining supplier performance reports, KPI dashboards or savings pipeline trackers.

- Experience with project, portfolio or stakeholder reporting tools.

- Professional certification in procurement (e.g. MCIPS, CPSM or equivalent).

- Commercial, contracting, technology procurement or project management certification.
