About the role
As the Payroll Team Leader, you will lead the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant payroll services for Parks Victoria employees. You will oversee end-to-end payroll operations, manage a small team, and provide expert advice on payroll matters.
The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, a single Enterprise Agreement, managing payroll reporting and governance activities, and driving continuous improvement through payroll system enhancements and process optimisation. You will partner closely with HR, Finance and leaders across the organisation to deliver a high-quality payroll service.
This role can be based in our Melbourne or Morewell offices.

We're looking for someone with:
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and payroll compliance requirements.
- Experience leading and developing a small payroll team.
- Ability and willingness to change and adapt to best practice ways of working.
- Knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing and payroll governance.
- Experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions - Parks Victoria has a one EA.
- Strong payroll systems and HRIS knowledge, including system optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies.
- Experience managing payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting and compliance activities.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality and customer service focus.
- Relevant qualifications or similar in Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or a related discipline (desirable).
