About the Team
The role sits within External Engagement and Partnerships, which focuses on strengthening relationships and collaboration with public and private sector partners and supporting a coordinated approach to engagement across the university. The Industry Partnerships function is focused on supporting faculties to identify, attract, scope and secure new partnerships, or deepen existing partnerships, to create maximum mutual value.
Job Purpose
This centrally located role leads the development of high-value, multi-thread industry partnerships at the institutional level, and is responsible for coordinating, deepening and multiplying partnerships across the university by consolidating collective intelligence and triaging, prioritising and distributing opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, development and ongoing relationship management of high-value, multi-thread strategic partnerships.
- Coordinate business development activity across the hub-and-spoke partnership function, and triage, prioritise and distribute incoming opportunities.
- Work with internal stakeholders to grow existing partner relationships and expand engagement.
- Generate business intelligence and cultivate external networks on key sectors/thematics; lead the development of business development, profiling and engagement strategies in these areas.
- Collaborate with delivery functions to support scoping, planning and transition of partnerships.
- Track partnership activity and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement.
- Allocate work and mentor staff within a developing team.
Skills, Attributes and Knowledge
- Strong judgement and ability to negotiate with professionalism and diplomacy.

- Ability to develop and progress partnership opportunities aligned to institutional priorities.
- Strategic thinking and commercial awareness with understanding of market and partner needs.

- Understanding of university and industry engagement contexts and partnership frameworks.
Experience
- Experience in business development, partnerships or stakeholder engagement in complex environments.
- Experience working with academic and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience leading and supporting team performance and delivery.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent opportunities and progressing them to outcomes.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification and extensive experience; or
- Extensive management experience with proven management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

What We Offer
Base Salary Range: SSG1 plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
