APS Power WA is looking for a reliable Trade Assistant / Yard Assistant to join our team.
This is a hands-on role based in our workshop and yard, supporting the preparation, movement and dispatch of generators, welding equipment and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Forklift operation is a major part of the role, so we're looking for someone who is confident behind the wheel and enjoys working in a busy environment.
We're after someone who takes pride in their work, is happy to get stuck in wherever needed, and wants to build a long-term career with a growing company.
Key responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load, unload and move equipment around the yard and workshop
- Prepare equipment for customer delivery
- Pick, pack and receive stock
- Assist with workshop tasks and equipment assembly
- Wash and detail equipment before dispatch
- Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organised and safe
- Assist with stocktakes and inventory control
- Help with customer collections and deliveries when required
About you
- Current forklift licence (essential)
- Current driver's licence
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work
- Good attention to detail
- Mechanically minded and keen to learn
- Able to work well in a team and use your initiative
- Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse or trade environment is preferred but not essential
