Douglas Shire Council is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused individual to join our team at the Mossman Pool as a Lifeguard (Casual). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patrons through diligent surveillance of all facility areas, maintaining pool safety standards, and operating in an environmentally conscious manner. You will be required to respond effectively and professionally to emergencies and unforeseen incidents, while contributing to a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all facility users.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003).
- Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID001).
- Current RLSS Pool Lifeguard Certificate or ability to acquire.
- Possession of a Working with Children Check (blue card check) prior to commencing employment.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation, as and when incidents occur.
- Skilled in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency procedures.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions including standards and procedures.
- Solid customer service focus.
- Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate in a courteous and diplomatic manner,
particularly in dispute situations.
