Balance Tax Accountants, an award-winning, values-led accounting firm based in Balcatta, Perth, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team on a full-time, office-based basis. Founded in 2015, the firm operates on an all-inclusive subscription model bringing tax, compliance and strategic advisory together for established business owners and investors. Recognised as an Institute of Public Accountants Practice of the Year and Xero Platinum Partner, the firm runs a modern, cloud-based practice from its own creative office space in Balcatta, with team members across Perth and the Philippines.

This is a senior individual contributor role (not a management position), working across a portfolio of business owner and investor clients with group and trust structures.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships, including clients with group and trust structures

- Advising clients on business and trust structures and the tax implications of decisions they're weighing

- Supporting clients in growing their wealth portfolios, going beyond compliance into genuine strategic advice

- Managing a portfolio of established business owners and investor clients as a trusted point of contact

- Handling more involved tax matters with confidence, accuracy and care

- Working within the firm's time tracking and reporting systems

- Contributing to a collaborative,



communicative team culture

Requirements

- Solid experience as an accountant in Australian public practice (not a graduate position)

- Hands-on experience with group structures, trust structures and business structures

- Confidence preparing more involved tax returns, built through genuine practice experience

- Strong working knowledge of Xero

- Tech confidence including Microsoft Office 365

- Current working knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance

- CA, CPA or IPA qualification (or transparent progress toward one)

- Open, honest and authentic communicator who enjoys being part of a close, supportive team

- High ethical standard and a teachable, adaptable attitude

- Ability to build genuine client relationships and grow into a confident, client-facing role

- Takes ownership of work without needing to be micromanaged

- Must be local to Perth and able to commute comfortably to Balcatta
