- Demonstrated expert level of clinical knowledge, expertise and skills in complex contemporary clinical practice, and evidence-based midwifery practice.
- Proven ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including a transparent understanding of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative counsel and clinical expertise on operational matters to management.

- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in quality improvement, service evaluation and research initiatives on a local basis.
