Assistant Project Manager
SA Paint & Protective Coatings is a leading South Australian commercial painting contractor delivering high-quality painting and protective coating solutions across residential developments, commercial buildings, schools, aged care facilities, industrial projects and large-scale apartment complexes.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an organised, proactive and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team.
No painting experience is required. We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. We will provide full training in our systems, products and processes.
About the Role
Working alongside our Project Managers, you'll help coordinate multiple projects from planning through to completion, ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate painting crews across multiple project sites.
- Plan and order paint and materials to ensure projects are supplied on time.
- Monitor project schedules and assist in keeping projects on programme.
- Complete daily site reports, recording labour, progress and site activities.
- Conduct site inspections and allocate defects for completion.
- Carry out quality inspections, defect checks and variation assessments.
- Liaise with builders, site supervisors, clients and suppliers to coordinate upcoming works.
- Assist in resolving onsite issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Ensure projects comply with company quality standards,
contract requirements and WHS obligations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including defects, variations and material usage.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Has excellent communication and people skills.
- Enjoys solving problems and thinking ahead.
- Can work independently while also being part of a team.
- Is confident using computers, Microsoft Office and learning new software.
- Has robust attention to detail.
- Has a current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Holds a White Card or is willing to obtain one.
- Has experience in construction, project coordination, scheduling, site supervision or administration (highly regarded but not essential).
