Product Development Technologist

The Opportunity

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will lead the end-to-end development of nutraceutical gummy and pastille products, from concept and formulation through to pilot trials, scale-up and commercial production. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams, you'll ensure products are technically robust, commercially viable and compliant with Australian and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead formulation and development of nutraceutical gummies and pastilles containing vitamins, minerals, botanicals, collagen, probiotics and specialty ingredients.
- Develop and optimise formulations for texture, flavour, stability, shelf life and active ingredient performance.
- Plan and execute laboratory and pilot-scale trials before transferring products into full commercial manufacturing.
- Optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, quality and product consistency.
- Troubleshoot technical and production issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with TGA, FSANZ, cGMP and HACCP requirements.




- Prepare technical documentation to support product registration, stability studies and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products from concept through to launch.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in nutraceutical, food or pharmaceutical product development.
- Proven experience developing gummy, pastille or other confectionery-based delivery systems.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, gelling systems, encapsulation techniques and formulation science.
- Experience managing products through pilot trials, scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of Australian regulatory requirements including TGA and FSANZ, with exposure to international regulations highly regarded.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
