Mellow Johnny’s is opening a brand‑new licensed Pizzeria, Café and Dessert Bar in Bunyip and we’re looking for an experienced Pizza Chef to join us from the very beginning (opening expected late Sept / early Oct). This is a rare opportunity to help shape a current venue, work with top‑tier equipment and grow your career as the business expands.

Our kitchen is being built around precision, consistency and quality. With a state‑of‑the‑art electric oven offering stable temperatures, fast recovery times and exceptional bake control, you’ll have the tools to produce outstanding pizzas every shift.

What You’ll Do

- Control all aspects of dough preparation.

- Utilise a high‑performance electric pizza oven.

- Stretch, top and cook pizzas from start to finish.

- Set up and maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

- Deliver high‑quality food during busy service periods.

- Assist with prep, stock rotation, ingredient management and kitchen organisation.

- Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.

- Contribute ideas for specials, menu development and continuous improvement.

- Help build a positive, supportive kitchen culture in a brand‑new venue.

Skills and Experience Required

- Experience working in an Italian restaurant or pizza section preferred





- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

- Ability to work efficiently in a team-based kitchen environment

- Strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a pizza or high‑volume commercial kitchen.

- Strong dough‑handling skills and confidence operating commercial electric pizza ovens.

- Ability to work cleanly, efficiently and calmly under pressure.

- Good communication skills and a team‑focused attitude.

- Reliability, professionalism and pride in presentation and consistency.

- Willingness to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
