About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Apprentice Chef to commence a nationally recognised apprenticeship with a respected hospitality organisation in the Nowra region.
Working alongside experienced chefs, you'll gain practical, hands-on experience across all aspects of a commercial kitchen while completing your formal qualification. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop valuable skills, receive ongoing mentoring, and build a rewarding career in hospitality.
This role operates on a rotating roster across weekdays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and cooking quality meals under the guidance of qualified chefs
- Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning food
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Assist with stock receiving,
storage and rotation
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils and preparation areas
- Follow recipes, portion control and presentation standards
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Is motivated to learn and complete an apprenticeship
- Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Enjoys working in a rapid-paced team environment
- Is reliable, punctual and eager to develop new skills
Essential Requirements
- Commitment to completing a Chef apprenticeship
- Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport (preferred)
- Full Australian working rights
