About the position
The Plant Operator (Multiskilled) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of plant and equipment within Toowoomba Regional Council. Plant Operators work on a range of construction and maintenance sites assisting with the delivery of various key projects
This position primarily operates a wheeled loader.

- The base wage rate for this position is $35.54 gross per hour, with a base fortnightly rate of $2,701.33.

How to be successful in this position
Hold the following mandatory qualifications, training and experience:
Mandatory:
- Current Heavy Combination ‘HC’ Class Drivers Licence.
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- SWNELP - Safe Work Near Electrical Live Parts or if not held,
to be obtained within three (3) months of commencement.
- TLIF0009 - Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility) unit competency, or if not held, to be obtained within three (3) months of commencement.
- Experience in operating related plant, including driving and operating trucks, on construction sites.
Desirable:
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LL’ Front-end Loader (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LB’ Front-End Loader Backhoe (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LE’ Excavator (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LR’ Road Roller (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LS’ Skid Steer Loader (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for ‘LG’ Civil Construction Grader (>2L engine capacity) or RII Competency (or equivalent).
- Current Multi-Combination “MC” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Dogging (DG) High Risk Work Licence.

The Logistics Operations team provides a range of heavy vehicles, plant and equipment for internal wet or dry hire to the internal areas of Council. Plant Operators (Multiskilled) have the opportunity to work on an extensive range of job sites, from major construction to operational jobs, providing an opportunity to experience the varied works Council has to offer.
