- Clerk Grade 7/8– salary from$116,981 to $129,492 per annum(FTE)plus super and leave loading
About the Role
As the Biosecurity Intelligence Officer, you will play a critical role in strengthening livestock traceability across NSW and supporting the state's biosecurity preparedness and response capability.
Working collaboratively across Biosecurity and Food Safety, Local Land Services, industry stakeholders and national partners, you will help coordinate operations, communication, stakeholder engagement and regulatory activities that support livestock traceability initiatives throughout NSW.
You will provide strategic advice, analyse traceability intelligence and data, coordinate projects, support policy and legislative development, and contribute to compliance, preparedness and emergency response activities. Your ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, interpret complex information and translate insights into practical outcomes will be critical to success in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence livestock traceability outcomes that protect agricultural industries, support market access and strengthen a resilient and sustainable biosecurity system for NSW.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will bring:
- Knowledge of livestock traceability systems,
animal biosecurity and the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS).
- Experience developing or implementing policy, programs, procedures or compliance initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical, evidence-based advice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, briefings and stakeholder communications, and build effective relationships across government and industry.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within timeframes.
