Role Description

The Pytha Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Marrickville, NSW. This role involves creating accurate 3D models and detailed shop drawings in Pytha for custom joinery projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and interior design plans, producing cutting lists and material take-offs, and coordinating with designers, project managers, and workshop staff to ensure designs are buildable and meet client specifications. The Pytha Drafter will also review and adjust drawings based on feedback from the production team, check dimensions and clearances, and support project timelines by delivering drawings and documentation on schedule. Maintaining organized project files and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting standards and workflows is also expected.

Qualifications





- Strong proficiency in Pytha or similar 3D CAD software for joinery and cabinetry drafting, with the ability to create detailed models and shop drawings.
- Experience interpreting architectural and interior design documentation, including plans, elevations, and sections, and translating them into practical joinery solutions.
- Knowledge of joinery construction methods, hardware, materials, and manufacturing processes, ideally in custom cabinetry or high-end fit-outs.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in dimensions and specifications, and a methodical approach to checking drawings and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with designers, project managers, and workshop teams in a busy production environment.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
- Relevant qualification in drafting, design, interior design, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience in joinery/cabinetry drafting.
- Familiarity with basic computer literacy and file management; experience with other design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) is an advantage.
- Understanding of workplace safety and willingness to follow on-site safety procedures within a workshop environment.
