Based in Geraldton, this is an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Psychologist to join our dedicated team of Mental Health Clinicians. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis, or part time (0.8 FTE) can be considered for a suitable candidate.

The primary focus of the role of Mental Health Clinician is to assist in the implementation of a responsive service that provides support to the local General Practitioners in their provision of care for Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals who are affected by mental health disorders within the Community. Clinicians are responsible for maintaining timely, accurate and compliant clinical documentation and data entry to support service quality, governance and continuity of care.

We are seeking applicants with:

Tertiary qualification and full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, or Clinical Psychologist with experience in providing psychological counselling / interventions to individuals and groups

High level of written communication skills particularly in the development of quality mental health care plans,



case notes, and report writing

Mental health triage assessment, urgency determination utilising clinical judgement and risk assessment

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with a wide variety of people including patients, GP's, Psychiatrists, allied health staff and other stakeholders

Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to provide culturally secure, respectful and inclusive mental health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people living with disability and diverse lived experiences

Demonstrated experience in and understanding the principles of confidentiality, particularly in relation to the handling of patient information

Ability to formulate and utilise outcome measurement tools

Sound computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and windows operating systems

Capacity to undertake regular regional travel as an essential part of the role, including travel throughout the region and overnight stays as required

Current driver's licence to essential

National Police Check (dated within the last 6 months) to essential

Working with Children Check (WWC) to essential

What we offer:

An attractive pay rate starting at 56.45 plus superannuation and salary packaging.

Salary packaging for tax-free income of 18,550 per year
