Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mortgage Broker Assistant to join our growing team. This role is the "engine room" of our brokerage, ensuring that our clients have a seamless experience from the first phone call to the moment they get their keys.
This is a perfect "foot in the door" for someone looking to build a career in the Australian finance industry. You will support our Senior Brokers by managing the administrative heavy lifting, allowing them to focus on strategy and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & CRM Management: Accurately inputting client data into platforms like Mercury CRM.
- Document Collection: Liaising with clients to collect supporting documents (payslips, bank statements, IDs) and ensuring they meet lender "minimum requirements."
- Application Tracking:
Following up with bank assessors and lenders to ensure loan applications are moving toward approval.
- Client Communication: Acting as the first point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates on their applications.
- Compliance Support: Organising files to ensure they meet industry compliance standards (NCCP) and internal audit requirements.
- General Admin: Assisting with diary management, booking appointments, and preparing basic loan comparison reports.
What We’re Looking For
- Detail-Obsessed: You’re the type of person who catches a typo in a 50-page document. Precision is non-negotiable in finance.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable learning new software quickly; proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is a must.
- Strong Communicator: A professional and friendly phone manner, with the ability to write clear, concise emails.
- Reliability: You can manage multiple deadlines and don't let tasks fall through the cracks.
- Eagerness to Learn: While no direct experience is required, a genuine interest in property and finance is essential.
Desired (But Not Mandatory) Qualifications
- Tier 2 or Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking (or a willingness to obtain one).
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or administrative roles.
- Familiarity with the Melbourne property market.
