How you'll make a difference
We're looking for a Software Asset & Licensing Lead to lead software asset and licensing governance across Australia and New Zealand. By combining commercial insight with hands‑on portfolio management, you’ll ensure our people have access to the software they need, optimise licence utilisation and maximise the value of our technology investments.
Partner with business teams to understand software needs, enable access to the right tools at the right time, and support effective and responsible software consumption.
Actively manage the software portfolio by optimising licence allocation, identifying and reclaiming underutilised licences, forecasting demand, and improving utilisation across the organisation.
Provide trusted data, reporting and commercial insights that identify optimisation opportunities, support technology investment decisions, and maximise the value of software spend.
Maintain accurate software asset, licensing and contract information to strengthen governance, improve portfolio visibility, and support informed planning and decision‑making.
Build strong relationships with technology vendors, procurement and stakeholders to improve software outcomes, manage licensing risk, and deliver sustainable value from technology investments.
The qualities that help you thrive
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.
- Approximately 7+ years' professional experience, including several years in software asset management, software licensing or technology portfolio management,
with demonstrated success optimising software investments and influencing commercial and technology decisions.
- Strong analytical and data capability, with the confidence to translate utilisation and cost data into clear insights for Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders.
- Proven experience in software asset management (SAM) and licensing governance, including allocation, reclamation, lifecycle management, compliance, optimisation and the ability to establish effective controls and ways or working.
- Commercially minded, with strong negotiation and influencing skills, and a genuine drive to actively hunt for and deliver value opportunities through software optimisation, improved licence management and smarter investment decisions.
- Technical, applied knowledge within an engineering, consulting, education or construction environment, with familiarity with tools like Autodesk or Bentley highly regarded.
This role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or New Zealand.
