About the Role

Powercom Solar is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our Hobart-based team. This is an excellent prospect to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and off-grid renewable energy projects throughout Tasmania, including remote locations, offshore islands, and occasional mainland Australia projects.

As part of our team, you will be involved in planning, installation, commissioning, and servicing of industry-leading solar PV, battery storage, and off-grid power systems. Every project presents unique challenges, providing excellent opportunities to broaden your technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, test, and commission solar PV and battery energy storage systems.

- Perform electrical installation work across residential, commercial, industrial, and off-grid sites.

- Diagnose faults, carry out maintenance, and perform system upgrades.

- Commission inverters, battery systems, generators, and monitoring platforms.

- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, electrical regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

- Work collaboratively within a skilled and supportive team.

- Travel throughout Tasmania and interstate as required.

Skills & Experience

- Current Electrical Practitioner’s Licence.

- Current driver's licence.

· SAA Solar Accreditation (or willingness to obtain).

· SAA Battery Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)

· Experience with solar PV and battery storage systems is highly regarded.





- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
