About the Role

Bitek is a leading national distributor of TV, Security, and Data solutions servicing the electrical, security, AV, and ICT industries. We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Canberra operation.

This is a genuine hands-on management role . While you will be responsible for the overall performance of the branch, you will also be expected to work alongside your team day-to-day. That means serving customers on the trade counter, assisting with sales enquiries, helping in the warehouse, receiving stock, picking and packing orders, organising freight, and stepping in wherever required to ensure the branch runs smoothly.

Our Canberra branch operates with a small, close-knit team, so we're looking for someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. Everyone contributes, and the Branch Manager is no exception.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, motivate, and develop a small branch team.
- Create a positive, accountable, team-focused culture.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to staff.
- Lead from the front and actively contribute to daily branch activities.
- Serve customers on the trade counter and over the phone.
- Drive branch sales performance and achieve revenue targets.




- Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and wholesale customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts.
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service and support.

Warehouse & Operations

- Assist with receiving, unloading, and checking inbound stock.
- Support picking, packing, dispatch, and freight coordination.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock control processes.
- Operate a forklift where required.
- Ensure the warehouse is organised, safe, and operating efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with WHS requirements and safe work practices.
- Manage branch performance, profitability, and operating costs.
- Monitor key sales and operational metrics.
- Work closely with Head Office on reporting, purchasing, and administrative requirements.
- Support overdue account follow-up where required.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Knowledge

- Previous experience in a Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Strong sales and customer service background.
- Experience within wholesale, trade, distribution, electrical, security, AV, or related industries highly regarded.




- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, dispatch, inventory management, and stock control.
- Experience managing branch performance and profitability.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in both operational and strategic aspects of the business.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to excellent service.
- Comfortable using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Current driver's licence.
- Current forklift licence highly preferred.
- Applicants without a forklift licence must be willing and able to obtain one immediately upon commencement.
- Business or management qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
