About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time basis in our Adelaide office located in Adelaide SA 5000. This role is fundamental to our financial operations and reporting requirements, ensuring that all accounting functions are performed to the highest standards. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing valuable financial insights that support the strategic decision-making of the business. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise within a growing, dynamic company.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries and reconciliations

2. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing

3. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards

4. Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow monitoring

5. Support the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders

6. Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis

7. Maintain compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures

Liaise with auditors and support audit processes as required

9. Assist with taxation matters and ensure timely submission of tax returns

10. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems

What we're looking for

1. A relevant qualification in accounting or finance, such as a diploma or degree in Accounting, or completion of CPA, CA or IPA qualifications (or equivalent)

2. Professional experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a similar or related industry

3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

6. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members

8. A commitment to accuracy, integrity and professional standards

9. Familiarity with taxation and superannuation compliance requirements
