The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Finance, Data and Reporting, the team is responsible for the development and management of the branch’s data reporting and analytics capability. This includes developing queries within branch IT systems, maintaining and updating reports using Power BI, delivering high-quality data visualisations for executive stakeholders,



and working closely with departmental IT teams to identify and implement changes to data structures and reporting solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the APS 6 Data Analyst may include:

- Extracting data using SQL to build and maintain reports and respond to ad hoc data requests
- Developing and maintaining reports and Power BI dashboards to monitor program performance
- Working closely with program and policy areas to understand data requirements and provide accurate, timely information
- Leading projects to improve data accuracy and streamline reporting tools across the branch
- Management of the branch’s data holdings and development of reporting tools
- Providing of evidence-based advice on data and reporting to inform and advocate sound decision-making on complex matters.
