Fruit Share Adelaide rescues excess quality fruit from backyards and farms to reduce food waste and get fresh, nutritious produce to people who need it. In just 2.5 years we've rescued over 40,000 kg of fruit, distributing it to community organisations, food banks, schools, and charities across Adelaide — all powered by volunteers. And we're growing.

About the role

Our Operations Coordinator has had to step down after doing great work getting this role off the ground. We're now looking for someone to pick up where he left off, taking day-to-day coordination off our founder's plate so he can focus on strategy and growing our reach — and building organisational resilience, so key knowledge and tasks aren't held by just one person.

The role will continue to evolve based on what the organisation needs and what you bring to it. We're asking for a minimum of 5 hours a week, with full flexibility on when those hours are worked.

What you'll be doing

- Supporting the founder by taking on operational and administrative tasks
- Coordinating harvest logistics — transport and equipment
- Administering Common Fruit, our CRM for volunteers, fruit trees, and harvests,



and supporting Harvest Leaders to use it effectively
- Developing documentation and clear, repeatable processes from fruit enquiry through to distribution
- Maintaining records of harvests, volunteer hours, fruit volumes, and recipient organisations
- Liaising with partner organisations (OzHarvest, Foodbank, SecondBite) for larger harvests
- Supporting grant applications with accurate data and impact reporting
- Performed remotely from home; Adelaide-based preferred
- Flexible scheduling, minimum 5 hours per week
- Police check required — cost covered by Fruit Share Adelaide
- Volunteer role, with a pathway to paid as funding develops

What we're looking for

- Organised, reliable, and a confident communicator
- Comfortable with digital tools and databases
- Self-directed and adaptable in an evolving not-for-profit workplace
- Passionate about food waste, community, and sustainability
- Valid driver's licence
