Senior Analytics Engineer Hobart based | $130k–$150k
(Hybrid)

Not another dashboard factory.
Not another role where you're handed a ticket, build a report, and move on.
This is your chance to help build the data platform that will underpin AI.
You'll work with everyone from farming and operations through to supply chain and commercial teams, building data products that help people make better decisions every day.

What you'll get
You'll join at the right time.
The data platform is evolving, with Snowflake, dbt and modern analytics engineering becoming the backbone of how the business uses data and AI.
That means you'll have the prospect to influence how it's built, not just maintain what already exists.
You'll work alongside a high-performing Digital & Data team who care about building things properly. No shortcuts. No technical debt for the sake of getting something out the door.

The work is varied too. One week you could be designing data models for farming operations. The next, building semantic models that feed AI, creating Streamlit applications, or helping migrate data into Snowflake.

If you're someone who enjoys understanding why the business needs something—not just what they've asked for—you'll fit in well here.
On top of that you'll get hybrid working after probation, discounted private health insurance, wellbeing support, a paid day off for your birthday and, of course, discounted seafood.

What you'll be doing
You'll build and maintain data models using dbt and Snowflake, creating clean, trusted data that powers reporting, planning and AI.
You'll design data pipelines, contribute to the Snowflake migration, and build lightweight applications that put data directly into the hands of operational teams.

Just as importantly, you'll spend time with the business.

Understanding how people work.

Asking good questions.

Building solutions that solve real operational problems—not just technically elegant ones.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you...
Like getting close to the business instead of sitting behind a backlog.
Enjoy data modelling and writing clean SQL.
Care about building data products that people trust.
Can explain technical concepts without hiding behind jargon.
And you're excited by where analytics engineering is heading, particularly around semantic layers, modern data platforms and AI.
You'll probably have around five years' experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or a similar role, with strong exp
Experience in Snowflake (or an equivalent cloud platform), dbt and SQL.
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, Python or Power BI would certainly help, but what matters most is that you know how to turn messy business problems into well-designed data solutions.

The team
You'll join a close-knit analytics team of four within a broader Digital & Data group of twelve.

They're collaborative, technically strong, and genuinely enjoy helping each other. There's plenty of autonomy, but you're never left on your own.

Interested?
If you're looking for a role where you'll help shape the future of data and AI—not just build reports—I'd love to have a chat.
Your CV doesn't need to be perfect. Just send me what you have.

Everyone gets a response.
