Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Welder role based in the Melbourne’s North. The Welder will perform day-to-day laser welding operations on sheet metal and fabricated components, following technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Responsibilities include setting up and operating laser welding equipment, preparing materials, and completing high-quality welds using appropriate techniques and processes. MIG/TIG welding experience also welcome.

The role involves inspecting finished work for accuracy and quality, performing basic maintenance on tools and machinery, and collaborating with production,



engineering, and quality teams to meet project timelines. The Welder will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety, efficiency, and product quality within the advanced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

- Strong practical welding skills e.g., MIG, TIG, laser welding other common welding processes, however predominantly laser welding which can be learned on the job.
- Experience working with sheet metal and fabricated steel or aluminum components
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications, with sound measurement, layout, and metal preparation skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices, including knowledge of relevant safety standards, PPE requirements, hazard identification, and safe equipment operation.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, ideally within advanced or digitally enabled production settings, with an understanding of quality control and inspection procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Relevant trade qualification or certificate in welding, fabrication, or metalworking, or equivalent practical experience; additional tickets, licenses, or coding in welding are an advantage.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and a focus on producing high-quality work, with openness to learning new technologies and participating in continuous improvement activities
