McNally Group Contracting

Rockingham

McNally Group Contracting is a family-run Western Australian business delivering mining camps and non-process infrastructure across the State. Our reputation is built on strong values, quality work and doing what we say we are going to do.

We are seeking a Procurement & Logistics Trainee to join our Henderson team and support our Modular and Remote Construction operations. This is a genuine entry-level opportunity to learn how materials and equipment are quoted, ordered, tracked and delivered to keep projects moving.

The role would suit a school leaver, recent graduate, career starter or someone with experience in administration, customer service, retail, warehousing or manufacturing. Previous procurement experience is not essential. What matters most is strong practical numeracy, accurate data entry, confidence communicating with suppliers and the determination to follow tasks through and close the loop.

The successful applicant may join as an entry-level assistant with structured on-the-job development or, subject to eligibility and mutual agreement, undertake a formal Supply Chain traineeship leading to a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.

At McNally, we take the work seriously, but not ourselves. You will suit us if you communicate clearly, take ownership, play above the line, enjoy being part of a supportive team and bring an All in attitude.

Responsibilities include:

- Providing day-to-day administrative and coordination support across the Modular and Remote Construction procurement functions.

- Following up suppliers on quotations, order confirmations, stock availability, lead times, backorders, delivery dates and required documentation.

- Maintaining accurate procurement, material, delivery, logistics and site registers, including outstanding actions and expected delivery dates.

- Entering and checking supplier, purchase order, material request, delivery and project information in company systems and spreadsheets.

- Checking quantities, unit rates, totals, project codes, delivery locations and dates, and promptly querying discrepancies.

- Assisting with quotation requests, basic price comparisons, material request processing and purchase order administration under guidance.

- Tracking outstanding and overdue orders, following up missing information and escalating delays or risks to the appropriate team member.

- Assisting with freight bookings, consignment information and delivery coordination for modular production and remote sites.

- Liaising with suppliers and McNally's project, site, manufacturing, yard, stores and finance teams to provide accurate and timely updates.

- Supporting stock checks, goods receipting records, delivery documentation and orderly electronic filing.

Required Skills

- Strong practical mathematics skills and confidence working with quantities, unit rates, totals, percentages and basic cost comparisons.

- Fast and accurate data entry skills, with a methodical approach and pride in getting the detail right.

- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including confidence using sorting, filtering and easy formulas.

- Clear and professional communication skills, with the confidence to contact suppliers by phone and email and follow up outstanding information.

- Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage routine tasks while responding to urgent project priorities.

- Reliability, persistence and a strong commitment to completing tasks and keeping others informed.

- Completion of Year 12 or equivalent is preferred; mathematics, business, accounting or logistics subjects would be advantageous.

- Previous experience in administration, customer service, retail, warehousing, manufacturing or construction would be well regarded but is not essential.

- A genuine willingness to learn, accept feedback and build a career in procurement and logistics.

What we offer

- Structured on-the-job training and support from experienced procurement and logistics professionals.

- Practical exposure to supplier management, purchasing, freight, inventory, modular manufacturing and remote construction delivery.

- The potential to complete a nationally recognised Supply Chain qualification through a formal traineeship.

- A supportive, values-led team environment where initiative, accountability and growth are encouraged.

- A genuine foundation for future career development in procurement, purchasing, logistics or broader supply chain operations.

Please submit your resume together with a brief cover letter explaining why a career in procurement and logistics appeals to you.

McNally is committed to attracting and developing the right people who support and strive towards the company's vision. We offer the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals and develop your career within a supportive and fast-paced construction environment.

At McNally, we build better people, better relationships and better projects. We do what we say we are going to do, first time, on time, all the time.
