Ord Minnett is seeking a driven and commercially minded Associate - Institutional Equities to join our Sydney Institutional Equities team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine exposure to Australia's institutional equities market with a hands‑on business analysis and reporting role. Working closely with the Head of Institutional Sales, you will support the day‑to‑day activities of the sales desk while providing analytical insights and reporting to help drive business performance.

About the role

This is a dual‑purpose position, combining sales support and business analysis responsibilities. You will work closely with senior sales and trading professionals, Research Analysts and Corporate Finance teams to support the delivery of a best‑in‑class institutional client experience.

Key responsibilities include:

- Producing and maintaining sales desk reporting, business analysis and performance insights
- Supporting pre‑market sales and trading activities, including trading reports, settlements, bookings and research review
- Developing and publishing pre‑market and post‑market trading reports
- Coordinating analyst and corporate roadshows, investor meetings and broader corporate access initiatives
- Attending company and client meetings and preparing concise meeting notes and feedback
- Assisting with the distribution of research, market insights and investment ideas to institutional clients
- Development of sales trading and DTR trading capability,



including order taking and order placement
- Building relationships with institutional fund managers and supporting the promotion of Ord Minnett's research and market insights

About you

You will likely have:

- 1–3 years' experience within financial markets, equities, research, trading, investment banking or a related field
- A robust interest in Australian equities and the emerging companies market
- Excellent analytical skills with experience preparing reports, insights or business analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- An interest in how emerging technologies, including AI, can enhance financial analysis and market insights
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business or a related discipline
