Initial 3-Month Contract (Strong Potential to Convert to Permanent)

We're partnering with a growing boutique data consultancy looking for a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join the team on an initial three-month contract, with a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role.

Working across a range of enterprise clients, you'll help design, build and optimise modern cloud data platforms, leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , Snowflake and dbt to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions.

This role would suit a well-rounded Data Engineer who enjoys working directly with stakeholders, solving complex data challenges and delivering modern analytics solutions in a consulting setting.

The Role

You'll be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native data pipelines, building scalable data models and supporting enterprise data platforms across multiple client engagements.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of modern ELT solutions while helping establish engineering best practices across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable cloud-based data pipelines.
- Build and optimise data models within Snowflake.
- Develop robust ELT processes using dbt and modern transformation frameworks.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to build and support modern data solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Monitor and improve data quality, performance and reliability.




- Contribute to engineering best practices around testing, deployment and CI/CD.
- Support the successful delivery of multiple client projects.

About You

You'll ideally have:

- 3-6 years' commercial experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
- Experience working with services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Dataflow or similar GCP technologies.
- Strong commercial experience with Snowflake .
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Experience building modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong experience with dbt .
- Experience with Python and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Cloud Composer.
- A solid understanding of data modelling and ELT best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Previous consulting or professional services experience is advantageous but not essential.
