The Opportunity
An exciting chance has become available for an experienced finance leader to join the Strategic Finance team as Manager Management Accounting (AO7) on an initial six-month contract.
Reporting to the Director Strategic Finance, you will lead the operational management accounting function, overseeing a team of finance professionals responsible for budgeting, management reporting and financial business partnering across the Hospital and Health Service.
This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with Executive Leadership and senior operational stakeholders to support strategic decision-making, improve financial performance and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities include
- Lead the Management Accounting team and mentor a high-performing group of finance professionals;
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning and management reporting across operational portfolios;
- Partner with Executive Leadership and senior stakeholders to provide strategic financial advice and business insights;
- Drive financial governance, business improvement initiatives and best-practice management accounting processes; and
- Lead financial modelling, performance analysis and continuous improvement projects to support organisational objectives.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced finance leader who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic business decisions. You will have demonstrated success leading finance teams within large, complex organisations and possess exceptional management accounting and analytical capabilities.
You will also bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams;
- Extensive management accounting, budgeting and financial planning experience;
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence senior executives;
- Experience driving financial governance, continuous improvement and organisational performance;
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (SAP highly regarded);
- Previous experience within Queensland Government, healthcare or another highly regulated environment will be highly regarded; and
- Ability to meet Mackay Hospital and Health Service’s mandatory vaccination requirements, including MMR, chicken pox, whooping cough and TB screening.
