Volunteer Shift Requirements

- Commit to at least one shift per week (minimum of 4 hours)
- Provide your availability (times and days) on the application form

Program Overview

The Red Cross Wellbeing Centres are accommodation facilities located in Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton, allowing people to rest and recuperate while receiving medical treatment or caring for/visiting loved ones from remote parts of North Queensland.

The Centre provides safe, affordable accommodation.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Provide clean, welcoming environments through all cleaning duties using provided equipment, products and tools. Demonstrate good communication skills and attention to detail. Relate to and empathise with a broad range of people, including those with different lived experiences, abilities and cultures.

Application Requirements

- Undergo a National Police Check, managed through Red Cross.




- Submit a recent resume and details of two professional references.
- Hold or apply for a Working with Children Check; Red Cross can assist with this application.
