As a Business Analyst – Accounting & Payroll, you will play a key role in shaping the future of accounting software in Australia. Working closely with accounting firms (fiduciaries), product teams, and internal consultants, you'll help position Odoo as a fully AU-compliant, accountant-first solution.
This role combines hands-on project delivery, product evolution, and industry enablement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, impact, and working at the intersection of accounting and technology.
Responsibilities & Day-to-Day Activities
Project Delivery & Internal Enablement (~25%)
- Manage and deliver projects similar to Professional Services (PL) engagements, with a strong accounting focus
- Implement Odoo for SMEs, ensuring best practices in accounting and payroll configuration
- Support accounting- and payroll-driven implementations
- Organise and deliver internal training sessions for the PL team, focusing on accounting and payroll topics
Core Role Responsibilities (~75%)
Short-term focus
- Contribute to the evolution of Australian accounting and payroll localisation in Odoo
- Gather feedback from accounting firms (fiduciaries) and the wider market
- Leverage hands-on experience with a high volume of customers
- Define product specifications and functional improvements
- Monitor market trends and legal/regulatory changes
- Test and validate solutions developed by technical teams
Mid-term focus
- Onboard and enable accounting firms to adopt Odoo as their preferred solution for managing client portfolios
Long-term focus
- Participate in and organise accounting-focused business events, roadshows, and industry exhibitions in collaboration with fiduciaries

Must Have
- Experience working in or closely with an accounting firm
- Solid understanding of accounting and payroll processes
- Ability to manage projects and multiple stakeholders

- Interest in accounting software, ERP systems, and digital transformation
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP or accounting software implementation (e.g. Odoo, Xero, MYOB)
- Exposure to Australian accounting and payroll compliance
- Experience working with product teams or defining functional requirements
- Background in training, enablement, or client-facing consulting roles
