Who We Are

Northern Community Legal Service (NCLS) is a community legal centre in Adelaide’s northern suburbs which provides legal, social, and community support services. We work alongside individuals and communities to address legal issues, promote fairness, and empower people to navigate the legal system with confidence.

What We Do

Northern Community Legal Service provides free legal help, information, and community education to support people in Adelaide’s northern region to understand their rights and navigate the legal system with confidence.

We offer initial legal advice, with further assistance or representation available depending on a person’s circumstances and the nature of their matter. Our work spans key areas of civil, criminal, family, and migration law, with a focus on helping people resolve issues early and access fair outcomes.

Alongside individual assistance, we deliver community legal education to local groups and service providers, building legal capability and helping prevent problems before they escalate.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from passionate and dedicated lawyers at all stages of their career – from recent graduates to senior practitioners – who share our commitment to social justice and community service.

About You

You are a lawyer who:

- Holds (or is eligible to hold) a current practising certificate in South Australia

- Has strong communication and advocacy skills

- Is committed to social justice and community engagement

- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
