About the role

Village Dental Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team in Bowral, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting chance to work in a progressive dental practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental professionals and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for all our patients. This position is based in office at our Bowral location and is essential to the day-to-day operations of our practice.

Key responsibilities

1. Assisting dentists and dental hygienists during clinical procedures and treatments

2. Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to infection control protocols

3. Managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate documentation

4. Providing chairside support during patient treatments

5. Welcoming patients, answering enquiries, and ensuring a friendly reception experience

6. Assisting with patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care

7. Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the dental practice

8. Processing patient payments and administrative tasks

9. Supporting the dental team with inventory management and supply ordering

What we're looking for

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach

2. Solid organisational abilities and attention to detail

3.



Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols is preferred but not essential as training will be provided

4. Proficiency with software and basic computer skills

5. Physical capability to work chairside and perform manual tasks throughout the day

6. A commitment to professional development and staying current with dental knowledge

7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

8. Current immunisations as required by dental practice standards

9. Optimistic outlook and good problem solving skills
