Your role
Homes NSW is seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are passionate about supporting community and improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families.
As an Aboriginal Client Service Officer, you will play an important role in walking alongside clients, families and community, helping people navigate housing services, sustain successful tenancies and access the support needed to thrive.
In this role it is significant to recognise and understand the importance of cultural knowledge, lived experience, community connections and understanding the unique challenges and strengths within community.
We are looking for candidates who can build trust, communicate respectfully and work in partnership with community to help achieve the best outcome possible for families.
What You’ll Do
You will build trusted relationships with local organisations and stakeholders, providing culturally responsive support that recognises the strengths,
experiences and aspirations of Aboriginal people.
Your cultural knowledge lived experience and community connections will help deliver positive outcomes for clients, families and communities.
As Part Of Housing Services, You Will
- Support clients with housing applications, tenancy matters and access to housing assistance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders and service providers
- Connect clients with appropriate supports and services to meet their individual needs.
- Support sustainable tenancies and contribute to stronger communities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver quality, client‑centred services.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ll join a supportive and community-focused team committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, while creating a culturally secure and inclusive workplace.
- Strong connection to community, with the cultural capability to work respectfully and effectively with community members and stakeholders.
- Ability to build trust, communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with clients, community organisations and service providers.
- Commitment to supporting Aboriginal people and families to achieve positive housing and wellbeing outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with clients experiencing complex circumstances.
