Job Description

Broadacre Farm Worker - Full-time Role MT HARDY PTY LTD — York, Western Australia Salary: $79,500 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Multiple positions available | Full-time, ongoing Our Client operates a broadacre cropping enterprise at York in Western Australia, growing lupin, wheat, barley, oats, canola and lentils. We are seeking a full time Broadacre Farm Worker to support all stages of the cropping program.

Responsibilities

- Inspecting and reporting on the condition of broadacre crops (lupin, wheat, barley, oats, canola and lentils)
- Sowing and planting crops using hand tools and farm machinery
- Undertaking soil preparation, cultivation and crop maintenance, including weed control
- Spraying crops with pesticides, herbicides and fungicides to control weeds, insects, fungus growth and disease
- Operating water and irrigation systems to support crop growth




- Erecting and maintaining farm fencing
- Harvesting grain, oilseed and pulse crops in accordance with set requirements
- Baling hay and loading it into transporters
- Maintaining and cleaning farm infrastructure and equipment, including sheds, fences, plant, and water supply and irrigation systems
- Operating and maintaining general farm machinery, including machinery to cultivate, fertilise, spray and harvest broadacre produce
- Operating data collection and farm technology systems
- Assisting with sheep and general livestock work during peak periods (approximately one week per year)

Qualifications

- At least 1 year of relevant farm work experience
- Ability to operate and maintain broadacre farm machinery
