This is a 6 month fixed term, full‑time position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension.

Role

Shark Bay School is searching for a vibrant, creative, and experienced Learning Support Coordinator with comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures. The role will include line management of the Educational Assistant staff.

The Learning Support Coordinator will have a hands‑on role, leading teachers to develop and implement student‑centred curriculum and assessment adjustments, to allow students with both diagnosed and imputed disabilities to achieve success within the school’s mainstream context. The Learning Support Coordinator will work in collaboration with staff to strengthen the professional development of teaching within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) domain. A high level of interpersonal skills and drive, with the ability to establish and maintain networks, both internally and externally, will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should have the ability to foster positive relationships with key stakeholders and provide timely support to students, staff and families using a student‑centred case management model. The successful applicant will ideally have exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise, keep accurate records and the ability to analyse data to inform planning and practice that improves outcomes for students.

Qualifications

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
