What you'll do
- Apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems across diverse domains including personalisation, loyalty, supply chain optimisation, and generative AI applications.
- Implement end-to-end data science solutions, from data extraction and feature engineering through to model development, evaluation, and deployment with appropriate monitoring and validation.
- Apply statistical and machine learning expertise (GLMs, clustering, optimisation, XGBoost, deep learning) alongside modern generative AI techniques, designing and deploying agentic workflows, utilising LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and multi-agent systems to deliver intelligent conversational commerce solutions.
- Write production-level code following established standards, conduct peer reviews, and promote best practices in analytics, source control (git), and quality assurance frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring AI solutions are embedded effectively into the customer journey.
- Mentor junior data scientists, provide technical guidance, and contribute to team capability building.
- Communicate complex insights effectively to diverse audiences, translating technical concepts into business impact.
What you'll bring
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience in a data science role, delivering analytical solutions in production environments.
- Robust technical proficiency in multiple coding languages (Python, SQL), including expert-level skills in exploratory data analysis and data manipulation.
- Solid foundation in statistical and machine learning techniques, with proven experience implementing model evaluation strategies and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably GCP products such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, GCS, with a focus on cost efficiency and best practices.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, mathematics, actuarial studies, statistics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to manage expectations and communicate progress proactively.
- Systematic problem‑solving abilities and experience troubleshooting complex technical issues within cloud platforms independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively and think big; willingness to learn and adapt.
