The role

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller to take ownership of Ranged's internal finance function as our Head of Finance. This is a hands‑on role - you'll run the numbers across our Retail, Legal, Export, Corporate Advisory and CFO Advisory divisions, lead a team of bookkeepers and be the financial backbone that allows our Advisory Teams to focus on what they do best. You'll report directly to two Managing Directors and have genuine scope to shape how finance operates inside a growing, multi-division business.

What you'll be doing

- Owning the monthly reporting cycle across all five group divisions
- Preparing consolidated management accounts and divisional performance reports
- Developing and maintaining financial KPIs across divisions, giving leadership explicit visibility of performance against targets




- Identifying and driving performance improvement initiatives - from process efficiencies to margin and cost opportunities
- Supporting the MDs with financial analysis and ad hoc commercial queries
- Leading and reviewing the bookkeeping team to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Managing cash flow, budgets and forecasts
- Liaising with external tax and compliance advisors

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Head of Finance or Financial Controller or equivalent
- A track record of building meaningful KPI frameworks and translating financial data into actionable insights
- Experience managing or reviewing a bookkeeping team
- High attention to detail — you care that the numbers are right, not just close enough
- Comfortable owning a full finance function across a lean, fast‑moving business
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Xero
- Able to work autonomously and manage priorities across multiple entities
- Background in professional services with knowledge of consumer goods, FMCG or retail advantageous
- Experience in multi‑division or group reporting environments

- 3 days per week (flexible on days for the right candidate)
- On site, split between our Hawthorn and Melbourne CBD offices
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
