Your role

The Architecture Division is responsible for designing and overseeing the overall structure and design of AUSIEX’s technology systems. We ensure that all technology components work together efficiently and align with the company’s long-term business goals.

This role is based in Sydney and will see you perform the following:

- Define Product Vision & Strategy: Craft a compelling product vision aligned with business objectives. Develop and maintain a product roadmap. Create, refine, and prioritize user stories and features. Ensure backlog items are clear, actionable, and valuable.
- Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders and gather requirements from customers, business leaders, and internal teams. Translate their ideas and requirements into an appropriate solution design and help stakeholders understand the resultant business model and end‑to‑end solution.
- Stakeholder Communication: Be a bridge between business stakeholders and the development team. Ensure the product delivers maximum value to users and aligns with business goals, especially within Agile and Scrum environments.
- Sprint Planning & Execution: Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Clarify requirements and provide feedback during development. Define acceptance criteria and validate completed work. Ensure deliverables meet user needs and business standards.
- Solution Design and Blueprinting: Design technical solutions aligned to architectural standards. Select appropriate platforms, tools, and architectural patterns. Create blueprints, system diagrams, and architectural documents detailing components, interactions, and technologies.
- Technology Selection and Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend the right technologies to solve business problems, considering existing stack, budget, maintenance costs and future scalability.
- Technical Leadership and Governance:



Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure implementation adheres to architectural design, security standards and best practices, acting as a point of contact for technical issues and decision‑making.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential technical risks such as integration challenges, security vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the solution is robust and reliable.
- Contribute to Enterprise Architecture: Provide feedback on architectural standards, components or patterns that should be added, changed or removed. Share experience with specific technologies, emerging trends and implementations to inform future strategy.

Required Qualifications And Skills

To be considered for this key role you will have a minimum of 10 years experience in related duties and a similar industry, in addition to being able to undertake:

- Financial Domain Knowledge: Foundational understanding of equities, fixed income, derivatives and other instruments. Knowledge and experience with trading workflows, order management systems (OMS), risk management and post‑trade processing.
- Product Management: Experience in product management, business analysis and project delivery. Exposure to tools such as JIRA, Confluence or Microsoft Project. Develop and maintain scope and backlog items including Epics, Features and User Stories, and work with the Scrum Master to plan sprints.
- Technical Proficiency:




- Low‑latency Systems: Designing and implementing high‑performance, low‑latency trading systems.
- Integration: Experience with APIs and events, and implementing modern architectural models such as microservices.
- Cloud Computing: Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to build scalable and resilient financial applications utilising high levels of automation (Terraform, GitHub Pipelines).
- Data and Analytics: Knowledge of data pipelines, databases (SQL and NoSQL) and analytics tools to support a data‑driven business.

- Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Well‑versed in key regulations (ASIC, ASX, Privacy) and designing solutions that are compliant from the start.
- Problem‑Solving: Analyse complex trading and business problems, identify technical and business requirements, and design solutions that are effective, future‑proofed and cost‑productive.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to bridge gap between business‑side equities traders, compliance officers and technical development teams. Clearly explain technical solutions, trade‑offs and risks to non‑technical stakeholders.
