Your Role & Team
We are hiring a Customer Delivery Engineer to support the growing number of customers integrating directly with the Collect platform. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer onboarding, and technical integration, helping enterprise customers successfully implement the Collect API while ensuring a smooth, high‑quality onboarding experience.
The primary goal of the role is to help customers realise value from Collect as quickly as possible, accelerating time‑to‑value while improving onboarding conversion rates and reducing early lifecycle churn. By providing hands‑on technical support during API integrations, the role plays a critical part in delivering a positive customer experience and long‑term platform success.
This role will also help protect the core R&D; team's focus by taking ownership of technical onboarding tasks and building integration connectors between customer systems and the Collect API, ensuring customers receive fast,
responsive support throughout the implementation process.
This is a customer‑facing technical role working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales and Implementation teams, and will be a key contributor to the success of Collect's enterprise and API‑driven customers.
You’ll report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Please note, it’s a full‑time opportunity offering hybrid working conditions out of our Sydney CBD Office.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Build adapters and connectors between customer ERP systems and the Collect API.
- Support customers integrating their internal systems with the platform.
- Manage credentials, environments, and integration configuration.
- Develop internal integration solutions where customers lack development capability.
- Act as the primary technical contact for API customers during onboarding.
- Provide technical guidance to enterprise customers and their engineering teams.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Implementation and Sales to streamline onboarding.
- Contribute to API improvements and commonly requested capabilities.
- Assist with technical discovery during enterprise sales cycles where required.
- Support troubleshooting during onboarding and early customer lifecycle.
- Help define best practices for API integrations and onboarding.
- Document integration patterns and reusable connectors.
- Contribute to improving onboarding processes to reduce time‑to‑value.
- Ruby on Rails experience:
5+ years building and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications in production, including background job processing with Sidekiq.
- SQL proficiency: 5+ years writing, troubleshooting and optimising SQL queries.
- AWS ECS experience: 2+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS ECS (Fargate) in production environments.
- Operational excellence: Production debugging, performance tuning and observability tools (e.g. Datadog or similar).
- Strong engineering background with API integrations.
- Experience integrating with ERP systems (MYOB, NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, etc.).
- Experience supporting enterprise software implementations.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication, webhooks, and integration patterns.
- Experience in FinTech, SaaS, or workflow platforms.
- Ability to work across Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.
