We design, manufacture and install infrastructure and building components for the schools, aged care and commercial industries, our projects are many and varied.

About the Role

Based in Braemar (the beautiful Southern Highlands) and reporting to the General Manager, we are seeking a People and Culture Manager to join Austruss Pty Ltd on a permanent part-time basis , 2-3 days per week. This is a strategic role that will play a crucial part in shaping and nurturing our organisational culture whilst driving human resources initiatives.

As People and Culture Manager, you will be initially focused on developing and implementing people strategies that align with our business objectives, fostering an inclusive and engaged workplace, and ensuring our workforce is motivated, supported and developed. This role sits at the heart of our People function and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the employee experience at Austruss.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement comprehensive people and culture strategies that support business objectives and employee engagement

2. Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring we attract and retain top talent aligned with our values

3. Oversee employee relations, including performance management, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution

4.



Design and deliver learning and development programmes that support employee growth and career progression

5. Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives, recognition programmes, and wellbeing activities, already established, but yet to be fully effective

6. Review all current and existing policies and procedures relating to HR

7. Ensure compliance with employment legislation, workplace policies, and industrial relations requirements

8. Manage employee benefits, payroll liaison, with an experienced HR systems administrator

9. Conduct data analysis and reporting on HR and Safety metrics to inform strategic decision-making

10. Provide HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the organisation

11. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and address strategic organisational challenges and opportunities

What We're Looking For

1. Minimum 7 - 10 years' experience in a Human Resources or People and Culture management role in an industrial/manufacturing environment

2. Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and onboarding processes

3. Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and workplace relations

4. Demonstrated expertise in employee engagement, culture development, and change management

5. Experience with HR systems and analytics tools, such as Employment Hero

6.



Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels

7. Solid interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities

8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

9. Professional HR qualifications such as AHRI membership or similar accreditation are advantageous

10. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to approach challenges strategically and pragmatically

About you.

To be considered for this role you must possess tertiary qualifications in Human Resources/People & Culture or a directly relevant degree, with between 7 - 10 years' experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Post Graduate qualifications would be highly regarded.

You will be an excellent and considered communicator at all levels, be as much at ease advising the senior leadership team as you are out in the factory engaging with the factory staff getting to understand the culture throughout the business
