Ranger Lifting Rigging Safety is a leading specialist in lifting, rigging and height‑safety solutions, supporting customers across construction, manufacturing, transport, infrastructure and utilities.

We are seeking a hands‑on Technical Services Fitter to join our Inspection & Technical Services Workshop in Prestons.

About the role

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will work across installation, workshop production and technical inspections of lifting, rigging and height‑safety equipment. This is a varied, practical role suited to a trade‑qualified fitter who enjoys both workshop work and customer sites.

Key responsibilities

- Perform in‑house and on‑site inspections of lifting, rigging and height‑safety equipment
- Carry out installation of manufactured systems and associated components on customer sites
- Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts into products, machines and equipment
- Set up and operate production machines (including pressing and cutting) as required
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials, methods and sequence of work
- Check components and assemblies for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Conduct testing in line with NATA/LEEA and relevant standards, maintaining accurate registers and records
- Assist with booking,



receipting and scheduling of inspection and workshop jobs
- Provide technical support and product advice to Ranger customers
- Work safely at all times and comply with company policies, procedures and WHS requirements

About you

- Trade qualification – Fitter / Mechanical / related trade (Certificate III or IV)
- Experience in lifting, rigging, height‑safety or a closely related mechanical environment
- Strong practical fitting, assembly and fault‑finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Comfortable working both in the workshop and on customer sites
- Sound computer skills for basic data entry and reporting
- Current NSW driver’s licence
- Strong attention to detail, with a "can‑do" attitude and commitment to safety and quality
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
- LEEA or other industry‑related training will be highly regarded but is not essential.
