What you’ll be doing:

As a Risk Specialist, you'll play a key role in partnering with the Group Risk Manager to bring the Virgin Australia Risk Management Framework to life i.e.driving its implementation, ensuring its evolution, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. business degree, Certified Practicing Risk Manager, etc.)
- A proven track record in Enterprise Risk Management in a large corporate environment (minimum of 3 years)
- Experience facilitating risk workshops across all levels of management and staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Effective time and task management abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to details
- An analytical mindset with a proactive and practical approach to problem-solving
- The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and carry out a variety of duties through being flexible and adaptable to the Group’s needs
- The ability to work autonomously
- Sound knowledge of the AS/NZS ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard




- Working knowledge and demonstrated experience in Enterprise Risk Management, risk analysis, and reporting
- Familiarity with risk management software solutions
- Understanding of risk appetite concepts and their practical application
- Membership of a professional association and/or accreditation (e.g. RMIA) (desirable)
- Prior experience or knowledge in the aviation or airline industry (desirable)
- Experience in Program and Project Risk Management, operationalisation of Risk Appetite, and assessing risk culture (desirable)
- Knowledge of significant legislation impacting the VA Group (desirable)
