About the role
The Administrative Assistant supports a multi-disciplinary team by providing high-level admin and reception services,
maintaining accurate records and booking lists, managing outpatient clinic bookings, and improving departmental efficiency through effective systems and processes.
Key duties of the role
- Provide a front-line reception service to the department
- Provide appropriate support to patients, relatives and visitors and appropriately direct telephone calls and inquiries
- Ensure that enquiries regarding patient welfare are dealt with promptly by directing enquiries to relevant nursing or medical staff
- Receive and process referrals.
- Maintain confidential patient Unit Records
Skills and Experience
- Previous administrative / clerical experience.
- Experience with the use of windows and Microsoft Office products
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of organisations and senior staff members
- Ability to deal with situations, staff and patients with maturity and empathy
- Work effectively within a team environment.
