About the role

Chew Chew Bistro is seeking an experienced Chef and/or Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. Based in Palmwoods, Queensland, this role is central to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. You will play a key part in maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation, and service, whilst working in a fast-paced hospitality workplace. This is an excellent chance for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to a thriving venue and make a real impact on our diners' experiences.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing, cooking, and plating dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency with our menu specifications and culinary vision

- Managing food preparation

- Monitoring food quality, freshness, and presentation throughout service

- Collaborating with the kitchen team to meet service demands during peak periods

- Assisting with menu development, recipe testing, and food costing where applicable

- Receiving and storing deliveries, managing inventory, and minimising food waste

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a hospitality or restaurant setting

- Robust culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes to a high standard

- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and health regulations

- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods

- A passion for quality food and continuous improvement in culinary techniques





- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues

- Experience with modern kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
