Gardex is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Fencing Labourer to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Malaga, WA 6090. As a Fencing Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our fencing projects from start to finish, working alongside our experience Leading Hand Fencers to deliver high-quality fencing installations and repairs.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of fencing sites, including clearing debris, marking out fence lines and ensuring work areas are protected and organised
- Support the installation of fencing materials.
- Dig post holes and assist with the setting and securing of fence posts using concrete or appropriate fixings
- Cut and prepare fencing materials to specification under direction from Leading Hand
- Operate hand and power tools safely as directed, following all site safety protocols
- Assist with site clean-up and removal of waste materials on a daily basis
- Maintain equipment and tools in valuable working order
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements
- Support the fencing team with general labouring duties as required
Qualifications & Experiences/Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour duties regularly throughout the day
- A genuine interest in the fencing industry and a willingness to learn new skills
- Reliability and punctuality, with a solid work ethic and commitment to completing tasks
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- Good communication skills and the ability to work safely in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
- Previous labouring or construction experience is advantageous but not essential
- Willingness to complete relevant safety inductions and training as required
- Construction White Card
- Valid Driver’s License and own transport to travel to job sites
- Ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing
