Adelaide
Domestic Cleaner — Southern Suburbs, SA
Casual | Up to 38 hours/week | Monday–Friday
Does cleaning make you happy? Same.
At Orange Basket Community Services, we believe cleaning is more than a task, it's a gift of service that brings comfort, dignity, and peace to the people we support. We're looking for someone who takes joy in every detail, gets a genuine sense of satisfaction from creating spotless, welcoming homes, and is ready to make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
About Us
Orange Basket Community Services is a registered charity creating life-changing outcomes for people living with disabilities. We empower the people we support to live independently, with choice, dignity, and purpose. A clean, comfortable home is a critical part of that mission, and that's where you come in.
About the Role
As a Domestic Cleaner, you'll maintain cleanliness and hygiene in participants' private homes across Adelaide's southern suburbs. You'll work independently, moving between multiple homes each day, so a reliable, roadworthy vehicle and a valid driver's licence are essential.
This casual role offers up to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday — ideal for anyone who values a steady weekday routine and genuine work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine domestic cleaning: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting
- Clean bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and bedrooms to a professional standard
- Leave every home spotless, safe, and comfortable
- Keep accurate records of completed cleans and report any concerns
- Work respectfully and discreetly in participants' homes
- Follow our cleaning standards and infection control protocols
About You
You're dependable, self-directed, and motivated to grow. This role will suit you if you:
- Arrive on time, every time
- Work well independently, without close supervision
- Take pride in doing a job thoroughly and properly
- Notice what needs doing and take initiative
- Enjoy hands-on work and the satisfaction of transforming a space
- Bring strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic
- Manage your time well and stay organised
- Stay calm, qualified, and friendly with the people you support
- Act with integrity and a willingness to learn
- Are mature, solution-focused, and consistent
- Want to build a long-term career in disability and community services
Domestic cleaning experience is preferred, but we're happy to train the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.
This role suits a mature, dependable person who doesn't need ongoing prompting or close management — consistency matters, especially when supporting vulnerable people.
Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and a reliable, roadworthy vehicle (essential)
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- COVID-19 vaccination, in line with current government requirements
Why Join Us?
- A supportive team and ongoing training
- Work that makes a difference where it matters most — inside people's homes
- Genuine work-life balance with weekday-only shifts
- Room to grow with the organisation
- A role with real meaning, every single day
