Seabreeze Resorts is an Australian-owned hotel and management rights operator with a growing portfolio of premium apartment hotels across South East Queensland.

We're seeking a hands-on Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Sovereign Gold Coast. This is an opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys being on the tools while taking ownership of the presentation, upkeep and long-term care of a large accommodation property.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the property is maintained to an exceptional standard for both owners and guests.

This is a diverse role that combines hands-on maintenance with the coordination of contractors, preventative maintenance, compliance and improvement projects. You'll also provide day-to-day leadership and support to a small team, including a Property Attendant and Maintenance Assistant, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

No two days are the same. One morning you may be repairing a guest room, the next coordinating contractors, overseeing pool and spa water quality, obtaining quotations for refurbishment projects or planning preventative maintenance across the property.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete general repairs and maintenance throughout the property.

- Carry out painting, patching, carpentry and minor building repairs.

- Lead, mentor and coordinate a small maintenance team, including a Property Attendant and Maintenance Assistant.

- Assist with room refurbishments and property improvement projects.

- Maintain swimming pools and spas, including water quality testing, chemical balancing and plant equipment.

- Coordinate and supervise external contractors.





- Obtain and assess quotations and tenders for minor and major maintenance and capital works projects.

- Manage preventative maintenance schedules across the property.

- Monitor building services and compliance requirements.

- Assist with WHS inspections, risk management and hazard reporting.

- Maintain maintenance records, asset registers and compliance documentation.

- Work closely with management to identify opportunities to improve the presentation, efficiency and long-term performance of the property.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in your work and has a proactive approach to property maintenance.

You'll ideally have:

- Experience in hotel, resort, strata, retirement living or commercial building maintenance.

- Solid practical skills across general building repairs.

- Good knowledge of painting, carpentry and general maintenance.

- Experience supervising or leading a small team.

- Experience maintaining commercial pools and spas, with a sound understanding of water quality management and plant equipment.

- Experience coordinating contractors and obtaining quotations for maintenance projects.

- An understanding of preventative maintenance, WHS and building compliance.

- Strong organisational, communication and time management skills.

- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative management team.

- A current manual driver's licence.

Trade qualifications (particularly carpentry or building-related trades) and pool operator qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.
