About the RoleAs Coordinator Parks Technical, you will lead the Parks Technical sub unit and play a key role in delivering high quality reserves, turf and irrigation outcomes across the City. Reporting to the Manager Parks & Conservation, you will provide specialist technical expertise in turf management and irrigation while leading a skilled team to achieve operational and strategic objectives.

This diverse role combines people leadership, technical expertise and service delivery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practice work programs, managing resources and workflows, and ensuring a strong focus on safety, performance and continuous improvement. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to the planning and enhancement of the City's parks and open space assets to meet both current and future community needs.

About youYou will be an experienced leader with solid technical knowledge in turf management, irrigation systems and parks maintenance practices. You will have a proven ability to lead and develop teams, foster a positive workplace culture and drive high performance while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and wellbeing.

Your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, sporting groups, and government agencies.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

- Qualification in a relevant discipline such as sports turf management and irrigation.
- Experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation
- Extensive knowledge in the management of active and passive turf




- Extensive knowledge in the design, installation and maintenance of commercial irrigation systems
- Knowledge of golf course turf maintenance (desirable)
- Advanced people management skills to direct, manage, evaluate and motivate staff
- Advanced skills in business planning, resource planning and budget management
- Advanced contract management skills
